The Brisbane developer central to a storm about Hard Rock’s involvement in a deal for Australian casino operator Star Entertainment had previously dropped the US entertainment outfit’s name in talks about a potential Gold Coast gambling zone.
Five years ago, the Queensland government was examining an “integrated resort” at the Gold Coast that potentially included a casino. The state concurrently sought bidders for a potential second casino at the beachside city, and Hard Rock International announced its interest in that licence.
