Star lifts pressure over rival Gold Coast casino

Gaming giant Star has renewed pressure on government to kill off a rival second Gold Coast casino, even as it copped investor criticism on the quality of service, including at its monopoly facility.
Star Entertainment publicly dangled a carrot in front of the Queensland government on Thursday, vowing to commit billions of dollars to projects and additional spending on facilities.
