Christopher Hill learnt about the scale of the insider trading conspiracy he’d been plunged into while riding in the back of a police car the morning of his arrest, when a news bulletin mentioned a figure of more than $7 million.

“They were taking me to another holding cell, somewhere in Canberra ... it just came over the radio, the $7 million, the [Block] apartment,” says Hill in episode 4 of The Sure Thing podcast released on Monday.
