A more workable solution is hiding in plain sight as the prudential regulator considers whether to forge ahead with a controversial proposal for 10-year caps on board director terms.
The 10-year director limit forms part of the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority’s proposed overhaul of its governance framework, of which details were released in March. There were eight proposals, some more workable than others, but it was the board tenure cap that stoked much of the dissent.
