Billionaire Annie Cannon-Brookes has opened a restaurant on Dunk Island, a once-popular Far North Queensland resort destination devastated by cyclones that she bought in 2022 for nearly $24 million.
With beachfront views of the jetty and a casual dining menu, the restaurant will service day-trippers and campers to Dunk and is the first part of broader plans to redevelop the island still recovering from Cyclone Yasi in 2011. Cyclone Larry also hit the island in 2006.
