Union says sector-wide bargaining would force CBA and ANZ to table

The Finance Sector Union has put the big banks on notice that it will look to sector-wide agreements if they don’t meet demands for higher pay and better redundancy protections for members, as two of the big four shun enterprise bargaining.

As National Australia Bank started talks to negotiate an enterprise agreement on Monday, FSU national secretary Julia Angrisano said the union was exploring how such an approach might work in practice with the banks and insurers.
