Guidelines from the financial crime regulator that are supposed to push banks to provide services to sex workers actually gives them more leeway to dump the industry, a lobby group says.

Sex Work Law Reform Victoria’s Matthew Roberts says the practice of denying banking services to an entire industry, known as debanking, is rife and those operating legally in the sex industry find it almost impossible to secure banking services if they disclose their true occupation.
