Rugby Australia eyes $250m from private equity

Bankers are drawing up plays to sell private equity firms on the viability – and profitability – of Australian sports.
Rugby Australia – with investment bank Jefferies in tow – is looking to raise up to $250 million in outside capital, and has commenced dialogue with private equity firms including Silver Lake, CVC Capital Partners and Andrew Forrest’s Tattarang, among others, people familiar with the talks said.
