The pointy end of man-made climate change is never more apparent than in an area like the Pumicestone Passage, 60 kilometres north of Brisbane, a region that feels the full force of tropical cyclones and east coast lows.

The passage stretches from the tip of Bribie Island near Caloundra in the north to Deception Bay in the south.
