David Murray hits back at Keating on bank capital
David Murray, the former Commonwealth Bank chief who led a root and branch review of the banking sector, has hit back at former prime minister Paul Keating’s proposal that lenders be eligible capital relief if they partner with superannuation funds on corporate loans.
“There is certainly no argument for weakening the capital position of the banks,” Mr Murray told The Australian Financial Review on Tuesday.
