On October 10, 2017, a newly minted investment company associated with an Indonesian billionaire named Edwin Soeryadjaya confirmed a $176 million, off-market bid for a gently ambitious regional miner called Finders Resources.

Finders owns and operates a neat little copper mine on the Indonesian island of Wetar and Soeryadjaya, along with some familiar investment buddies, were underwhelmed by its progress and figured the time had come to introduce new management.
