Oil Search faces test at $US3b Alaskan oil venture

Oil Search faces what analysts are describing as “challenging” conditions to sell down a stake in its $US3 billion ($3.9 billion) oil project in Alaska to allow it to proceed into construction later this year.

The company signalled on Wednesday it expects to commit within weeks to starting engineering and design work on the Pikka project on Alaska’s North Slope.
