At a time when politicians are allergic to complex policy reform Victor Dominello in NSW is having a crack at reining in the ballooning costs of the $2.2 billion compulsory third party insurance market.

Dominello, who is minister for innovation and better regulation, plans to release a paper canvassing a range of options for reforming a scheme that is rapidly departing from its original purpose of assisting people seriously injured in car accidents.
