Alleged murderer Sheree Glastonbury transferred Geoffrey McLean’s cars into her name after his death, court told

An alleged murderer wants “her” property back – but prosecutors say it truly belongs to her victim, and she took it after killing him.

One of the alleged wheelie bin love triangle murderers transferred her victim’s vehicles – including valuable “historical” cars – into her own name after his death, a court has heard.

Sheree May Glastonbury has asked the District Court to lift restraining orders that block her from accessing the Andrews Farm property and vehicles she claims to have shared with Geoffrey McLean.

Those orders, imposed in August, ban Ms Glastonbury – who is in custody – from selling or otherwise financially benefiting from those assets until the conclusion of her prosecution.

On Tuesday, Ms Glastonbury’s counsel said some of their client’s possessions should be excluded from the order – but a prosecutor said it was not that simple.

“This application is misconceived, and this matter is a complicated one,” she said.

“If Ms Glastonbury is convicted, we will be saying the house is an instrument of the crime of murder.

“The motor vehicles were in the name of Mr McLean … there is evidence some of them were transferred, and some were attempted to be transferred, into the name of Ms Glastonbury after his death.

“Some of those were historical vehicles which can’t be transferred … there’s a fair bit to unpack as to who the owners, at law, are of this property.”

Ms Glastonbury, 49, and Mark Murphy, 51, have yet to plead to charges including murder, attempted murder, assault and serious criminal trespass.

Prosecutors have alleged they subjected Mr McLean to a months-long campaign of home invasions and violence prior to his death using petrol, acid and an axe.

Mr Murphy’s twin brother Peter, 51, and his partner Lynette Sexton, 50, have yet to plead to aiding and abetting murder by allegedly storing Mr McLean’s body.

Prosecutors have dubbed the quartet “a conspiracy”, claiming they are tied to one another and to the alleged murder by extensive evidence.

On Tuesday, prosecutors asked Ms Glastonbury’s bid be struck out.

Her counsel asked it be adjourned, pending the attendance of a senior solicitor.

Judge Simon Stretton agreed to postpone the matter, and adjourned it until December.
