The longtime partner and alleged murderer of Geoffrey McLean was also responsible for his dousing with petrol and acid months before the killing, court documents allege.

Documents filed with the Adelaide Magistrates Court allege Sheree May Glastonbury committed multiple acts of violence against Mr McLean in the months prior to his death.

The papers charge her with the May 2022 petrol and acid attack that saw SA Police hosing Mr McLean down in the yard of the couple’s Andrews Farm home.

He was rushed to hospital with serious burns to his head, shoulder and arm, as well as blunt force injuries to his head.

Another person – Anthony James Lloyd – was arrested at the time, but he is not mentioned in the charges filed against Ms Glastonbury.

Her co-accused in some, but not all, of the charges is Mark John Murphy, alongside whom she was arrested two weeks ago.

Ms Glastonbury, 49, was a finalist in the 2017 PSG Holdings Indigenous Female Employee of the Year Award for her work with the Department of Human Services.

She has been charged with assault, aggravated serious criminal trespass, attempted murder and intentionally causing serious harm.

She is further charged with arson of a motor vehicle, a second count of intentionally causing serious harm, and murder.

The alleged victim in each of the charges is Mr McLean, whose partial remains were discovered in a wheelie bin on a vacant lot in October last year.

In court papers, police allege Ms Glastonbury assaulted Mr McLean with “a bottle containing liquid” on April 10, 2022.

Four days later, they allege, she armed herself with “a log-splitter”, invaded their home and intentionally caused him harm while attempting to murder him.

Mr Murphy, 51, also of Adelaide’s north, is jointly charged with those offences while Mr Lloyd, 62, has been charged over the alleged log-splitter incident.

Police further allege that, on May 9, 2022, Ms Glastonbury set Mr McLean’s car on fire and caused less than $30,000 damage.

A day later, they allege, she used “petrol and hydrochloric acid” to intentionally cause serious harm to Mr McLean.

Mr Murphy is not accused of taking part in the arson nor the acid attack, while Mr Lloyd has not been charged with murder or attempted murder.

Finally, police allege Ms Glastonbury and Mr Murphy murdered Mr McLean sometime between August 17 and August 20, 2022.

Ms Glastonbury and Mr Murphy have been remanded in custody to face court again in June, however Mr Murphy’s lawyers have foreshadowed a potential application for bail.
