Another week of the local footy pre-season is over and a number of clubs have signed local stars and former SANFL players. See every player move so far.

Welcome to ‘New Recruits’ – a weekly wrap of all the major player moves in local SA footy this pre-season.

Each week leading into season 2023 The Messenger will wrap the big movements across the state, including all country and suburban competitions.

We have seen more big moves recently, with big local names including an Adelaide Footy League best and fairest switching clubs.

Here are the movements from the past week.

ADELAIDE FOOTY LEAGUE

Blake Jarman and Izak Richards (Flinders Park to Woodville South)

Dustin Gordon (Waikerie to PHOS Camden)

Matt Tassell (Mitchell Park)

Dustin Gordon has joined PHOS Camden in division two after a solid year with Waikerie in the Riverland Football League.

Gordon enjoyed success through the middle and up front for the Magpies, booting 16 goals and tallying four best player nods in 11 appearances.

He joins a number of Phantoms signings so far this pre-season.

Callum Trifonoff (Kangarilla to Birdwood)

Jesse O’Brien (St Peter’s OC to Onkaparinga Valley)

On a major move in local footy and for the Hills Football League, St Peter’s OC champion Jesse O’Brien has returned to Onkaparinga Valley.

O’Brien had a dominant 2022 season for Saints and was selected to the Adelaide Footy League team of the year as a result.

The midfielder is the biggest signing for Onkaparinga Valley so far and should boost the club significantly.

KOWREE NARACOORTE TATIARA FOOTBALL LEAGUE

Zac Peake (Plympton to Naracoorte)

Star forward Zac Peake has departed Plympton to join Naracoorte in the KNTFL after a strong division four season in the Adelaide Footy League.

Peake was one of the Bulldogs’ biggest weapons during their preliminary final run last season, booting 55 goals in 16 games.
