The Adelaide Footy League has seen an endless amount of big moves so far this offseason and the past week has continued that trend.
Blackwood star Ben Adams has returned to Adelaide Uni, with the two-time Blacks best and fairest and 2020 Adelaide Footy League team of the year member set to help revitalise the club in division two.
Mitch Mead has left Woodville-West Torrens to join Seaton Ramblers in division three alongside HWE champion Josh Studham, the midfielder tallying a handful of SANFL League appearances for the Eagles this year.
Norwood U18s and player Wyatt Pisani - who also represented Tea Tree Gully last season - will pull on the boots for Modbury, while former club best and fairest Corey Gray has returned to Henley after a stint in the Yorke Peninsula FL.
ADELAIDE PLAINS FOOTBALL LEAGUE
Byron Sumner (Virginia)
Jacob Bortoletto (Woodville South to Virginia)
Former Sturt premiership player Byron Sumner has joined Virginia as the club looks to retool after losing star Paul Puopolo to Hope Valley.
A gun off of the backline and through the middle, Sumner is set to boost the Rams significantly.
Ex-Woodville South player Jacob Bortoletto also joins the club.
GREAT SOUTHERN FOOTBALL LEAGUE
Sam Overall (South Adelaide to Victor Harbor)
James Dawson (Tailem Bend to Langhorne Creek)
A move which has been on the cards for a month now, Sam Overall’s commitment to Victor Harbor was made official through the week.
Leading goalkicker in 2020, the gun forward played 114 games for the Panthers before stepping away from the SANFL and will move back home to represent the Roos in the GSFL.
It marks one of the big movements of the offseason so far.
HILLS FOOTBALL LEAGUE
Matt and Jake Spencely (Waikerie to Meadows)
Ollie Llewellyn, Nick Forrest, Lachlan Hay, Mason Clarke, Zach Ferguson (Macclesfield, Country Division)
Dougal Grieve (Bridgewater Callington to Torrens Valley, Country Division)
Adam Houlahan, Will Fearnhead (Bridgewater Callington to Onkaparinga Valley)
The Hills Football League saw its busiest week of the offseason thus far with a number of names changing guernsey for 2023.
Star brothers Matt and Jake Spencely have left Waikerie after multiple successful years at the club, the dominant midfielder/forward combo joining Meadows for next year’s campaign.
Bridgewater Callington saw three departures after a testing season, with star Adam Houlahan headlining the group.
The gun midfielder heads to Onkaparinga Valley to remain in the to division of the competition.
Macclesfield has also been active in the Country Division, picking up five players so far.
NORTH EASTERN FOOTBALL LEAGUE
Jake Egel, Angus Dayman (Berri to Eudunda Robertstown)
The Saints have made two moves this week in the NEFL, picking up Egel and Dayman to add to their ranks for season 2023.
Egel returns to the club after a season away at Berri, while Dayman will make his debut for the Saints next season, injecting pace and skill up front for the side.
RIVERLAND FOOTBALL LEAGUE
Sam De Michele (Imperials to Barmera Monash)
Imperials gun Sam De Michele has left the River Murray Football League and will join Barmera Monash in the Riverland competition next year.
The best small forward in the RMFL last season, De Michele will provide a bit of everything for his new club as they aim to compete with the best in the Riverland Football League.
WESTERN BORDER FOOTBALL LEAGUE
Laughlan Brooker (East Gambier)
Brooker, a utility who has played for West Perth, recently moved to Mount Gambier and has committed his services to East Gambier for season 2023.
It is a positive move for the club which finished bottom of the ladder last season having won just a single game.
