Two landmark Riverina stations, Nangunia and Woperana, sell for more than $19 million
Two Riverina stations have sold for more than $19 million combined. And it’s not the first iconic property the buyer has snapped up this year.
TWO landmark Riverina stations have sold for more than $19 million combined.
Woperana Station, at Tocumwal in NSW, has sold for about $14 million while Nangunia Station, at Berrigan in NSW, has sold for about $6 million.
Woperana Station, an irrigation and grazing property more than 3000 hectares in size, was purchased by a northern irrigator looking to focus on summer cropping and prime bullock fattening.
The property was sold by the Wakefield family, who have used the station as a mixed farming operation to produce winter and summer crops, as well as sheep and cattle.
Nangunia Station was purchased by businessman Courtney Ellis and his wife, Talia, who recently purchased Australia’s best known pub – The Birdsville Hotel – for about $6 million.
Mr Ellis also runs Outback Spirit Tours with his brother Andre.
Nangunia Station, a mixed farming enterprise more than 1800ha in size, was sold by Ian and Anna Lilburne from Hay, who purchased the station from the Steel family at the beginning of last year.
Selling agent Matt Horne from Elders Deniliquin said one of the drawcards of Nangunia was its homestead and mixed farming enterprise while Wopreana was appealing due to its broad scale irrigation country.
“We are seeing strong demand for large, quality, broad scale properties,” Mr Horne said.
