THE property market has opened on a high this decade with iconic properties selling for millions of dollars. Here are some of the biggest farm sales so far this year.
$97 MILLION
Erregulla Plains at Mingenew in Western Australia sold for more than $97 million to Daybreak Cropping.
This was thought to be the biggest sale ever in WA history.
Erregulla Plains is 22,000ha in size and was sold by Stuart and Cherie Smart.
$92 MILLION
Clark and Tait sold its Mantuan Downs property at Springsure in Queensland for $92 million on a walk in, walk out basis.
The property was purchased by the North Australian Pastoral Company and is 135,000ha in size.
$30 MILLION
The Ward family sold its Gilgal, Winona and O’Connor’s aggregation of southern NSW properties for the first time in 150 years.
The Cootamundra properties, 3618ha in size, were purchased by the Palgrove beef operation run by David and Prue Bondfield.
When listed, the aggregation had a price guide of $27 million to $32 million.
$21 MILLION
Clark and Tait sold its Barcaldine Downs property for $21 million, including 15,700 sheep and 700 cattle.
The 46,735ha property was purchased by Rob McGavin.
$16 MILLION
AAM Investment Group snapped up the Sunshine Aggregation and Round Cowal, both situated near Forbes in NSW, for $16 million.
Sunshine Aggregation is a 4820ha mixed farming operation in the Lake Cowal area, while
Round Cowal is 1640ha mixed irrigation farm in the Corinella district.

$6 MILLION
Moralana Station near Hawker in South Australia sold for more than $6.4 million.
The 62,000ha property was snapped up by the Michael family.
$4.5 MILLION
Plana, a livestock farm at Maaoupe in the Penola district sold for more than $11,700 per ha.
The 393ha property, which was owned by the Hall family for 65 years, was purchased by three of its neighbours.
$3.6 MILLION
An Eyre Peninsula mixed-farming business, near Mount Damper and Wudinna in South Australia, sold for more than $3.6 million.
The 2231ha property was sold by the Foster family and purchased by Yorke Peninsula Farming Business, on a leaseback arrangement for $1650 per hectare.
