A two-level, six-bedroom, Georgian-style, bluestone homestead built in the 1860s is the centrepiece.
It was designed by architect Edward Prowse who also designed The Hermitage at Geelong.
The grand home, which requires major restoration, features a cedar staircase, historic glass windows, and stately billiards, dining and drawing rooms.

And while the building may be in poor condition, agent Matt Childs said Ingleby presented as an opportunity or challenge for the purchaser.
“The historic fabric dating to the grand Western District’s pastoral era remains, but extensive building work will be required to rescue and reinstate the homestead and its adjoining bluestone support buildings for either a great residential lifestyle or some other purpose in conjunction with continued farming operations,” Mr Childs said.
The main homestead has an adjoining bluestone building comprising stables, coach house, workshop, staff and attendants’ quarters, along with much more recent farm infrastructure of yards and a machinery or hay shed.
There are three other homes on the property, all in poor condition.
“I hold the view that there will be buyers wanting and willing to restore Ingleby to its rightful position as one of the grand rural buildings of Victoria’s Western District pastoral history,” Mr Childs said.
During most of their 21-year ownership, the current owners have conducted the Kathandra Limousin stud in conjunction with a cattle grazing and breeding operation based on a nominal 250-cow breeding herd.
Following the death of her husband, the vendor has decided to sell the property.
The country is judged as highly productive volcanic soils on undulating land and river flats with almost 4km direct frontage to the Barwon River.
Stock water is sourced from the river, along with a 50- megalitre unused extraction right.
Water supplies include a large in-ground well in the garden plus rainwater tank storage.
Ingleby has a sealed road frontage and is within 10km of Winchelsea, 20km of Colac and 122km from Melbourne.
