Trade lamb indicator soars to record territory at 1173c/kg

The benchmark National Trade Lamb Indicator has surged to record territory at 1173c/kg carcass weight on July 17.
The indicator has increased 15c/kg in a week, 142c/kg in the past month and is 297c/kg higher than the same time last year.
The NTLI, calculated by Meat and Livestock Australia, is a seven-day rolling average of trade weight lambs from National Livestock Reporting Service reported saleyards across Australia. The NTLI includes lambs up to 12 months of age with all fat scores and carcass weights from 20–26kg.
Meanwhile, the restocker lamb indicator has risen to 943c/kg, which is 67c/kg higher than last week, 60c/kg higher than last month and 298c/kg up on last year.
The mutton indicator is sitting at 688c/kg, down 2c/kg in a week, up 14c/kg in a month and 210c/kg higher than a year ago.
