The benchmark National Trade Lamb Indicator has risen to 879c/kg carcass weight on December 12, 2024.
It has increased 21c/kg in the past week, and 96c/kg on last month. The indicator is also 237c/kg higher than the same time last year.
The NTLI, calculated by Meat and Livestock Australia, is a seven-day rolling average of trade weight lambs from National Livestock Reporting Service reported saleyards across Australia. The NTLI includes lambs up to 12 months of age with all fat scores and carcass weights from 20–26kg.
Meanwhile, the restocker lamb indicator has risen to 736c/kg, which is up 10c/kg for the week and 273c/kg higher than a year ago.
The mutton indicator has risen to 396c/kg, it is a rise of 16c/kg in a week, and up 72c/kg in a month. It is 202c/kg higher than a year ago.
