The National Young Cattle Indicator has risen to 355c/kg liveweight on December 12, 2024. This is a rise of 7c/kg from last week and 25c/kg higher than last month.

The EYCI, calculated by Meat and Livestock Australia, is the key price guide for restocker, processor and feedlot buyers, and sellers.

Precisely, it is from the seven-day moving average price for C2 and C3 vealers and yearlings at major cattle markets in NSW, Victoria and Queensland.

Meanwhile, NYCI is the key price guide for vealer, weaner, and yearling heifers, steers and mixed pens bought by restockers, with a live weight from 200kg.

It is a seven-day rolling average of young cattle sold across all National Livestock Reporting Service-reported saleyards and online livestock marketplaces. It is expressed in cents-a-kilogram liveweight.
