Gymea Hotel
12.5/20
Pub dining$$
You have to walk through the rather bland front bars of this pub to get to the Gymea's bistro adjoining the beer garden, a pleasant enough space, though rather sparsely planted. There's a fair range on the menu, with the usual chicken and fish, pasta and salads plus nachos and a pad Thai. An all-day menu offers a more limited range of burgers, steaks and chips. Food was mostly pretty tasty, and servings were large, though the side salad was slightly limp, the penne was slightly overcooked and the fish fillet in the kid's fish 'n' chips a little soggy.
