Corner 75

If there's one thing about Hungarians, it's that they'll never let you go hungry. So while the prices here tip the Everyday Eats budget to broken, value is good and appetites will be well and truly sated. Traditional veal goulash is beautifully done: tender meat, a rich paprika sauce and silky nokedli dumplings, and there's a mushroom version for vegetarians. There's crackly-gold fried langosh bread for an appetiser and some decent Hungarian wine, but the highlight here is dessert: strudel bursting with cherries, perhaps. While the charming red-and-white decor sets the scene nicely, prompt, cheerful service and those divine desserts are the cherry on top.
