Charlotte Cafe
Contemporary
This light-filled cottage cafe on a quaint little suburban street in a sweet little Birchgrove cottage feels just like being home - except that they are the ones making breakfast, not you, and everyone and their dog is invited. Balmain's pram-pushers order babycinos and perch their children at the crate of toys, and for adults, the Campos Coffee espresso ($3) comes out strong and full-bodied from the La Marzocco machine. There's a wall-length chalkboard filled with all-day breakfast options such as bacon and egg rolls, and any-time things such as grilled lamb wraps and avocado on Turkish toast with their own gush-worthy salsa verde.
