The duo behind two-hatted Fen are opening a Port Fairy burger bar
Ryan and Kirstyn Sessions, the duo whose two-hatted Port Fairy fine diner Fen closed in early 2018, are opening a new operation in the coastal town.
The couple announced last week that they had bought Port Fairy's Madagalli pizza parlour, a spacious heritage-listed building on Bank Street.
But their new venture involves neither dough nor the native-ingredient degustations they're best known for. Instead, they are converting the space into a yet-to-be-named burger bar with a tight offering of buns (meat and vegetarian), good chips (potentially onion rings, at a stretch) with a concise list of cocktails, accessible wines and craft beers, curated by Kirstyn.
The space will undergo a quick renovation, including a new kitchen, after which the duo plan to be flipping at 24 Bank Street by mid-July, "at the latest".
