Di Stasio Citta is now open
After a year-long wait, premium spaghetti is yours for the taking at Di Stasio Citta, restaurateur Rinaldo "Ronnie" Di Stasio's return to the city three decades after he shuttered Rosati to open his St Kilda landmark, known for its well-executed Italian staples.
Di Stasio and manager Mallory Wall served their first diners at the 94-seat restaurant and bar on Saturday.
As in St Kilda, the space is rendered in marble and brushed concrete, with heavy accents of red in the seating and doors, and, as you'd expect from the restaurateur who decorated St Kilda with provocative Bill Henson photography, there's a collection of contemporary artworks.
Di Stasio Citta is open for lunch and dinner (and cocktails) daily from 11.30am. It is, says Wall, "in the words of [food writer] Andrea Petrini, 'a tweezer-free kitchen'."
Open daily 11.30am--late.
45 Spring Street, Melbourne, 03 9070 1177, distasio.com.au.
