UPDATED: A GAGEBROOK man has been charged with murder over the shooting death of Jarrod Leigh Turner after a week-long investigation into the killing.

Tasmania Police confirmed the 30-year-old man had been charged shortly after 6pm on Sunday night.

Just hours earlier, a 22-year-old Gagebrook woman was charged with failing to report a killing and being an accessory after the fact to murder.

Both of them are expected to appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court on Monday morning.

The accused pair were arrested in Fingal on Friday night after a large police operation involving the Special Operations Group and Westpac Rescue helicopter.

A vehicle was towed from the scene of the arrest for forensic examination and items of interest were seized from a Fingal home searched as part of that operation.

Mr Turner’s body was discovered by a member of the public on the side of Colebrook Rd, about 2km north of Richmond, shortly before 6am on April 14.

Police later confirmed Mr Turner, 22, of Gagebrook, had been shot in the head.

Detective Inspector Doug Rossiter would not comment on the suspected motive for the killing but said police were continuing to investigate “exactly what happened and why”.

“Information from the public has been invaluable in this investigation,” he said.

“We would like to thank those people who have assisted police thus far.

“Anyone who still knows anything about this, no matter how small, we’d love to hear from you.”

When sked if police were still looking for anyone else involved in the alleged murder, Insp Rossiter said: “There are still people who we are yet to speak to who we think know more about what has happened”.

A 14-year-old girl allegedly linked to the killing was charged with one count of being an accessory after the fact to murder on Thursday. She did not apply for bail and was remanded in custody.
