A mum from North West Tasmania is celebrating after winning the top prize in a scratchie she bought after school drop-off on Wednesday morning.
The Ulverstone woman scored an eye-watering $10,000 after trying her luck at a $5 ‘Perfect Gift’ ticket that she purchased at East Devonport Newsagency & Lotto.
“I went home and made myself a cup of coffee and sat down to scratch them.
“When I saw I’d won the top prize on this ticket, I couldn’t believe it. I thought, ‘this can’t be right’.” said the delighted winner.
“I thought it had to be a fake, or a dud! I even questioned if it was a joke ticket, but it’s not.”
The lucky local said she plans to use the cash to treat her children and work on some upgrades around the house.
