Dark Mofo 2019: Got a question? We can answer it

Are you dazed and confused after trying to navigate the Dark Mofo website? See this weekend’s events and ask us a question about this year’s winter festival.

Dark Mofo

THE Dark Mofo festival is one of the best events of the year, warming up Tassie’s winter with edgy art and music, a winter feast and loads of fun. The same can’t be said for the all-too-arty festival website which is confusing and difficult to navigate, to say the least.

That’s where we step in to help.

Winter Feast is likely to be a highlight of Dark Mofo 2019.
Winter Feast is likely to be a highlight of Dark Mofo 2019.

Check out our Ultimate Dark Mofo guide or if you have a specific question ask via a direct message on our Facebook page and we will do our best to give the answer below.

GALLERY: BEST PICS OF DARK MOFO 2019

It might be about a specific show, where to read a review, how to find the best place for a quick bite to eat or even directions to get to a festival event.

Our journalists live here, know Hobart well and are familiar with the quirks of this fabulous festival. So ask away …

Q: Someone has asked about family friendly options at Dark Mofo.

A: Dark Path and Winter Feast are popular picks. We also have a family friendly section in our Ultimate Guide, which we have expanded with a heap of extra family events.

Q: Can you tell me if there is going to be parking available around the Regatta Ground or Domain?

A: From the Dark Mofo website:

We’re offering free parking at the Regatta Grounds, off McVilly Drive:

Wednesday 12–Sunday 16 June

Wednesday 19–Sunday 23 June

4–11pm nightly

Gates will close at 11pm

For information about accessible parking across Hobart, please see the Hobart City Council website.

Q: I did read that there was going to be a time for those with disabilities to attend the feast prior to general public entry but when I went to find the day and time again I couldn’t find it. Do you know if a time has been set aside?

A: This year Dark Mofo has initated a trial Access Program to select festival events. In order to keep the program at a safe and comfortable size for participants, it has had to limit the capacity for each session and will not be taking any more registrations for 2019. It said: “We hope to be formalising and expanding our Access Program in 2020. If you would like to be kept up to date on future opportunities please contact darkmofo@mona.net.au.

Q: We would like to know if it’s required that we get to the Winter Feast at 4pm to get a table or will there be chances of that happening if we arrive later?

A: Generally if you want to be sure of getting a table, the earlier you arrive the better, but because the Winter Feast is a paid-entry event numbers are better controlled than the summer Taste of Tasmania and there are plenty of places to sit down, inside and out. Spots around the open fires are popular. For more details on the feast see our Ultimate Guide .
