A 26-year-old man will be brought before Toowoomba Magistrates Court today after he led police on a pursuit through Oakey while behind the wheel of a stolen Audi A6.

Police will allege the stolen car was observed about 11am yesterday after it was taken from a Darling Heights home on August 3.

A Queensland Police Service spokesman said police activated their lights and sirens to intercept the vehicle but the driver sped off.

The vehicle was later observed on Bridge Street in Oakey and again it evaded police.

Police tracked the vehicle out of town, deployed road spikes along 4AK Road and were successful in deflating its tyres.

Undeterred, the man fled on foot through several farm paddocks.

The QPS spokesman said police deployed a K9 unit to track the man through farmland.

He was arrested after a short foot chase and held in the Toowoomba watch house overnight.

The arresting officers charged the man with 11 offences including two counts of evading police, three counts of receiving tainted property and one count each of stealing, burglary, dangerous driving, unlawful use of a vehicle, driving with false plates and unlicensed driving.
