A man accused of brazenly abducting a woman off the street in the heart of Toowoomba on a bustling Saturday night has been charged with further offences as more alleged victims come forward.

Police arrested Nasir Ilyas Kicho on March 2, hours after he allegedly drove a 36-year-old woman to a Toowoomba home and sexually assaulted her.

At the time of the incident he was known to police, as he had been granted bail for a different alleged sexual assault.

More women have come forward to report allegations of sexual assault against Nasir Ilyas Kicho, Toowoomba Magistrates Court has been told.

Three days after the 24-year-old’s name and photo were made public, following his appearance at the Toowoomba Magistrates Court, more than five other women came forward.

Police will allege that about 1.15am on February 25, Mr Kicho approached a 23-year-old woman outside a venue in the Toowoomba CBD before she entered what she believed to be a rideshare vehicle.

The man drove her to a nearby address before the woman exited the vehicle and fled on foot.

It is further alleged a short time later, the man approached a 42-year-old woman on Ruthven Street and offered her a ride home.

While in the vehicle, the driver allegedly touched the woman inappropriately.

Both alleged incidents were reported to police on March 5.

Mr Kicho was originally charged with one count of sexual assault and one count of deprivation of liberty in relation to the alleged assault on Saturday.

On Thursday, police laid a further five charges of sexual assault, two stalking charges, and one count of common assault.

At Toowoomba Magistrates Court on March 7, the fresh charges were adjourned to April 23, to meet up with his other charges.

The meat worker had a bail application denied by the court and remains in police custody.

Detective Acting Inspector Paula Smithard said following a public appeal for information, additional alleged victims have come forward and provided information to investigators.

“These victims have shown immense bravery, to speak up and report to police, which ultimately allows us to track down offenders and prosecute them,” Detective Acting Inspector Smithard said.

“We encourage anyone with information to come forward and speak to our officers.”
