A competition pool player put herself behind the 8-ball when she crashed her car while drink-driving on her way home from the pub.

Southbrook woman Jennifer Louise Ronnfeldt was playing the last round of the pool comp at a Pittsworth hotel on the night of August 31 when she made the “very poor decision” to drive, her solicitor Brad Skuse told Toowoomba Magistrates Court.

The 43-year-old crashed her car through a fence on Helens Street, Pittsworth, about 11.30pm, police prosecutor Cameron Francis told the court.

Testing positive for alcohol during a roadside breath test, Ronnfeldt was taken to Toowoomba Police Station for a breath analysis test and returned a breath/alcohol reading of 0.171, he said.

Jennifer Louise Ronnfeldt pleaded guilty to drink-driving when she appeared in Toowoomba Magistrates Court on September 23, 2022.

Mr Skuse said because it was the last round of pool that night his client had stayed longer than she would otherwise have done.

She was “extremely remorseful” for her actions, he said.

Ronnfeldt was heavily involved in the communities of Southbrook and Pittsworth where she was involved in a number of volunteer positions, Mr Skuse said.

Acting Magistrate Rowan Silva ordered the conviction not be recorded and fined Ronnfeldt $900 and disqualified her from holding or obtaining a driver’s licence for the minimum mandatory period of six months.
