Byron Fraser, Mullenjarly Pitt have unlawful wounding charges mentioned in Toowoomba Magistrates Court

Two men accused of trying to rob a homeless Toowoomba man near the city’s CBD, before allegedly stabbing him during the incident, have had their charges mentioned in court.

Two teenagers accused of stabbing an 18-year-old homeless Toowoomba youth have had their respective charges mentioned in court.

Oakey pair Mullenjarly Pitt, 18, and Byron Fraser, 19, had their matters mentioned on Friday in Toowoomba Magistrates Court.

Mr Pitt is facing charges of attempted robbery, possession of a knife in a public place and unlawfully wounding another, while Mr Fraser has been charged with attempted robbery and unlawfully wounding another.

Mr Fraser’s solicitor Brad Skuse told the court he had yet to collect the police brief of evidence, with police prosecutor Anita Page disclosing that further statements relating to the case were yet to be provided.

The matters were adjourned to May 5, with magistrate Louise Shephard allowing Mr Fraser’s bail to continue.

During the mention of Mr Pitt, who represented by solicitor Chelsea Saldumbide, the court was told the brief of evidence also had yet to be collected with the matters adjourned to May 12.

Police allege the pair and a 14-year-old boy were captured on CitySafe cameras near Grand Central the evening of February 16 posing with a hunting knife before an altercation took place in Chronicle Lane about 7.15pm where the alleged victim suffered a deep stab wound to his right upper chest.
