Jason Alchin will ‘saddle up’ with the Western Clydesdales in 2025 after committing to a new deal with the Hostplus Cup side.
The former NSWRL player and experienced mentor first joined the Clydesdales as their Hastings Deering Colts coach in 2022 before taking on the head coaching role for their inaugural Hostplus Cup season in 2023.
“I’m honoured to continue my journey with the Western Clydesdales,” Alchin said.
“The past two seasons have been immensely rewarding but also challenging.
“I look forward to further developing our playing squad and creating an elite learning environment across all our programs in 2025.”
Clydesdales CEO Shane Sullivan said Alchin’s commitment and passion were a key part of their decision to re-sign the coach.
His desire to create more opportunities for ‘local’ players was also a major deciding factor.
“Jason’s dedication and understanding of the game have been invaluable in our first two seasons,” Sullivan said.
“We are confident that his continued leadership of our football programs will drive the growth of our statewide competition teams, the pathway development squads and provide further opportunities to local players in the 2025 season.”
