Souths make it four on the trot

After a difficult start to the season, Southern Suburbs Tigers have found their form in the second half of the campaign and have now won four games in a row.

The Tigers claimed revenge for their opening loss of the season with a hard-fought 18-16 win over Brothers.

Souths’ recent run has seen them soar up to seventh on the ladder and while it would take a lot to go right for them, they are only two games outside of the top five.

However, the Tigers will face four teams above them on the ladder in their next four games, as they take on Valleys, Warwick, Wattles and Pittsworth.

Roosters make statement with gutsy win

The Valleys women’s side asserted themselves as one of the major premiership contenders with a narrow 6-4 win over fellow contenders Highfields on Sunday.

Clydesdales young star Kayla Jackson was the hero as she scored all six points for Valleys, with a try and a penalty goal to help the Roosters to victory.

While there is still four points between the ladder-leading Gatton and third-placed Valleys, any team in the top three has a realistic chance of taking home the silverware at the end of the season thanks to the talent within their teams.

Mammoth win for Warriors

Wattles had a day to remember during their trip to Oakey on Saturday as they claimed a stunning 78-6 win over the Bears.

The Warriors put 14 tries past the Oakey defence, with Brayden Paix the star, scoring three tries and 11 goals in an amazing 34-point outing.

Wattles remain one game clear of the fifth-placed Dalby but now have a much-needed points differential boost headed into the final stages of the season.

Vital win for Diehards

It wasn’t easy, but the reigning premiers claimed one of their most vital wins of the season on Sunday when they took on Pittsworth.

The Danes are Dalby’s main threat of taking the last finals spot of the season and the Diehards found themselves in trouble late in the game, trailing 28-20.

However, two late tries, including a 79th minute winner from Hunter James secured a comeback win for Dalby.

With just six rounds left in the season, the Diehards are now three points clear of Pittsworth.

Valleys young guns claim revenge

In their first time meeting since the unforgettable under-19 TRL grand final in 2023, Valleys claimed revenge against Highfields on Sunday with a resounding 46-6 win.

Back in 2023, it was the Eagles who came out victorious with a dramatic 27-26 grand final win in golden point, with Declan Ryan the hero.

On Sunday, there was no need for last-minute heroics as the Roosters put eight tries past the Eagles in a superb performance.
