As we head into the final six rounds of the TRL season before finals, we run the rule over the players who could shape both the finals and the premiership race in A-grade.

See who made the list from your club here.

Chris Woodbridge (Dalby)

The 2023 Webcke-Price and John McDonald Medallist was at the heart of Dalby’s run to the premiership last year and has been near unstoppable again this year.

Woodbridge is lightning in a bottle and has an incredible ability to find gaps in opposing defences which seemingly don’t exist.

While he hasn’t reached the same incredible heights as he did last year, Woodbridge is still the competition’s leading tryscorer with 22 tries this season.

He is also third in the competition for points scored with 106 points.

With Dalby currently holding onto the last spot in finals, Woodbridge’s attacking prowess will be crucial for the Diehards if they are to stay ahead of Pittsworth.

Caleb Murphy (Warwick)

The Warwick halfback has been one of the keys to their unbeaten start to the 2024 campaign and leads the league with 130 points.

Murphy’s playmaking has been elite as he helped lead the Cowboys’ blistering offence, which has seen them score more than 40 points per game on average.

If he can continue his scintillating form into finals, then it will be hard stopping Warwick in their quest for a drought-breaking A-grade title.

Jake Speed (Warwick)

Speed has formed a stellar partnership with Murphy and has been one of the league’s best offensive weapons.

The barnstorming winger has crossed over for an impressive 15 tries this season - second only to Woodbridge.

Mitch Wilson (Warwick)

The Cowboys forward has been a monster on defence and has also gained several metres in attack.

After round 11, he led the Webcke Price medal race with 15 votes.

Brayden Paix (Wattles)

With Wattles currently fourth on the ladder, Paix’s playmaking and ability to create try-scoring opportunities for himself and teammates will be crucial in the final stretch of the season.

Mitchell Bourke (Wattles)

Bourke has been a try-scoring sensation this year and has put in countless stellar performances for the Warriors.

He is currently third in the competition for tries scored with an impressive 11 four-pointers.

Alex Hinch (Valleys)

The electric winger has been one of the keys to Valleys’ resurgence after a slow start to the campaign and has chipped in with nine tries.

Denzel Burns (Valleys)

Burns brings 43 games of Queensland Cup experience having played with the Ipswich Jets from 2018 to 2023 and also the Clydesdales in their first two games of the year.

In the TRL, the lethal back has been in fine form, scoring seven tries for the season.

Luke Self (Gatton)

The Hawks have firmly cemented themselves in second place on the ladder and have been one of the most consistent sides in the competition, with workmanlike performances as well as some dazzling displays.

Self has been one of the major attacking outlets for Gatton this season and the star fullback has chipped in with eight tries.

Jacob Little (Pittsworth)

While there is a lot of work that is needed for Pittsworth to make finals, Little’s efforts have helped the Danes stay within touching distance of the fifth-placed Diehards as they trail Dalby by three points.

Little has scored eight tries this season has been a force to be reckoned with on the edges.

Jordan O’Shea (Pittsworth)

O’Shea is another Pittsworth outside back who has been a consistent performer, scoring a solid six tries this year.
