Round 15 of the TRL had it all, from an invincible run brought to an end, to potential grand final previews and some scintillating team and individual performances.

After such an action-packed weekend of league, check out the moments which made the biggest waves below.

Valleys end Warwick’s perfect run

It took almost four months, but the Warwick Cowboys are no longer immortal as they suffered their first defeat of the season on Sunday.

Valleys have found their form over the last couple of months and were undeterred by the challenge of taking on a side which was unbeaten through 14 rounds.

A Dwayne Duncan masterclass helped steer the Roosters to an impressive 36-22 at Father Ranger Oval as last year’s minor premiers proved they are the real deal again in 2024.

This marked the Cowboys’ first defeat in 330 days, with their last loss coming in the semi-final last year on September 2, where Gatton claimed a 30-24 victory.

Warwick’s lead at the top of the ladder has now dropped to just one point, with Gatton right on its tail, while Valleys are a further four points back in third.

All eyes will be on the Cowboys and the Hawks in round 17 when they face-off in a clash which could decide the Madsen-Rasmussen Cup.

Best women’s season yet

It has been an unpredictable, thrilling women’s Toowoomba Rugby League season with countless twists and turns as we approach the final few weeks of the campaign.

Predicting the premiership race at this stage is an almost impossible task, with Gatton, Highfields and Valleys all genuine contenders whose best is more than enough to take home the title.

This week, the Roosters strengthened their credentials with a resounding 36-0 win with Chloe Gray and Zoe Cook leading the way.

In the match of the round, Gatton and Highfields met in a thrilling battle which went down to the wire.

A clutch try late in the game from Taylah Hancock, helped the Eagles come from behind to snatch a win against the reigning premiers.

With three games left in the season, there are just two points between the ladder-leading Gatton Hawks, and third-placed Valleys, with Highfields just one point off the lead in second.

Under-19 minor premiership battle down to the wire

The women’s comp is not the only division where there is a thrilling three-way battle for the minor premiership.

Valleys, Dalby and Brothers under-19 sides are all separated by just two points with the Roosters currently ruling the roost.

The Diehards are set to have the biggest impact on the battle for top spot as they will face both Brothers and Valleys in their next two weeks.

Watch out for Wattles star in finals

Wattles reserve grade winger Isaac Leach put on a show for the Warriors in their clash with the Southern Suburbs Tigers.

With four tries, he helped his side to a nailbiting 28-24 win to keep his side within one point of the second and third-placed Hawks and Roosters.
