Wattles Reserve grade star takes out top player spot in round 15

Finals footy is just around the corner but action in Toowoomba Rugby League is not slowing down.

Following a number of comfortable wins at the weekend - Pittsworth Danes players feature heavily in our Top 10 individual performances list.

Plenty of young guns also made our list after solid work in the under-19s competition.

HONOURABLE MENTIONS: Joseph Willett (Wattles A-grade), Heath Tisdel (Souths Reserves), Lucas Paynter (Souths U19s), Darnell Blades (Souths U19s), Steven Buhse (Gatton U19s), Luke Cesari (Highfields U19s), Zoe Cook (Valleys Women), Dylan Tamari (Gatton Reserves), Jaycob Mudge (Highfield Eagles), Mitchel Clem (Valleys U19s), Bianca Holt (Newtown Women), Thomas Brownhall (Dalby U19s), Lachlan Hart (Dalby U19s), Joshua Duncan (Newtown Reserves), Alexander Lindsay (Dalby Reserves), Thomas Luhrman (Gatton A-grade), Dalton Walker (Gatton A-grade), Jeremiah Pati (Oakey A-grade) and Mitchel Clem (Valleys U19s) all scored doubles in round 15.

10. Jake Johnston (Pittsworth Reserves)

The Danes five-eighth had a solid hit out against Oakey scoring a try and kicking four conversions in his side’s 38-12 win.

9. Mitchell Dabin (Highfields U19s)

Dabin was the difference in a tense a battle with Gatton Hawks at Cahill Park Sporting Complex.

With both teams scoring three tries each, Dabin steered the Eagles to an 18-14 win kicking all three of his conversion attempts.

8. Chloe Pallisier (Highfields Women)

Pallisier played in a key role in a thrilling encounter at Cahill Park Sporting Complex.

The Eagles five-eighth expertly steered her team around the field and scored almost half Highfields points.

Pallisier scored a try and kicked two conversions in the Eagles 20-16 win over reigning premiers Gatton.

7. Dylan Andrews (Brothers Reserves)

The flying Leprechauns winger had a big day out against Goondiwindi Boars.

After opening the scoring inside the first five minutes of the game, Andrews went on to secure a try-scoring treble in his side’s 42-6 win.

6. Chloe Gray (Valleys Women)

The Roosters cruised to victory at the weekend and Gray was one of the main beneficiaries of some stellar team play.

Lining up on the wing, Gray scored three of her side’s eight tries in Valleys 36-0 win over Brothers.

5. Matt Duggan (Wattles A-grade)

The veteran playmaker was the key figure in Wattles 38-14 win over Souths at the weekend.

With the game in the balance in the second half, Duggan took control expertly steering his side around the park and leading by example.

Duggan scored two tries of his own in an important win that keeps Wattles in touch with fourth placed Valleys.

4. Thomas O’Sullivan (Pittsworth A-grade)

The crafty halfback starred in the Danes convincing win at the weekend.

O’Sullivan crossed the line twice and kicked five conversions in Pittsworth’s 42-8 win over Oakey Bears.

3. Kyle Brose (Pittsworth A-grade)

Brose needed just 16 minutes to make his mark in a dazzling performance at the weekend.

The Danes fullback crossed the line for his first try 30 minutes into the game and had his hat-trick shortly after halftime.

Pittsworth recorded a comfortable 42-8 win.

2. Dwayne Duncan (Valleys A-grade)

Valleys have been in red hot form over the past month and Duncan has been in the thick of the action.

The Roosters five-eighth was a key figure again at the weekend in his side’s 36-22 win over Warwick Cowboys.

Duncan produced more than half the Roosters scoring two tries, five conversions and a penalty goal.

1. Isaac Leach (Wattles Reserves)

Leach tore through the Southern Suburbs Tigers defence at the weekend.

The Wattles winger scored four of his side’s five tries in their nailbiting 28-24 win.

Leach nearly doubled his try total for the season with the winger now having nine tries to his name.

He is Tigers Reserves third highest try scorer this year behind Zac Alberts on 11 and Mitchell Matheson on 10.
