Taking their first ‘competitive steps’ a new crop of players are ready to make their mark in Toowoomba Junior Rugby League this season.
From Dalby and the South Burnett to Gatton and the Garden City here’s a look at the under-13 and under-13/14 players with bright futures.
Dylan Campbell
Souths U13
The young fullback is a game breaker with explosive power and speed. He is finding his feet nicely at the back and is working hard on effectively communicating with his teammates on setting the defensive line.
Joe Black
Souths U13
A natural leader and shows maturity beyond his years lining up in the halves. He is developing his game each week and steers the team around the park well. His kicking game has been a standout this season.
Bobby Facer
Souths U13
The team’s enforcer and captain Bobby leads the team from the front with a follow me attitude. He’s a metre eating front rower who hits like a truck in defence.
Mac Pauli
Souths U13
Mac has worked his way into the lock position this season and is improving every game. He’s doing all the little things right and working hard for his teammates. His defensive is outstanding and he’s finding the balance between running and when to pass.
Seth Jordan
Souths 13/14DC Orange
The captain and halfback brings a lot to the team with his attacking and defensive skills and is a great leader.
Riley Ardrey
Souths 13/14DC Orange
The vice-captain can play in several different positions across the forwards and backs is the team’s leading try scorer so far.
Charlie Mowbray
Souths 13/14DC Orange
A powerful forward in attack and defence he’s such a willing team player and great team man.

A fast improving forward playing in the second row and is starting to show potential with good team spirit.
Jacob Oliver
Souths 13/14DC Black
Jacob has a great attitude towards his football and has earnt his position at fullback. He has shown he can be safe at the back and is improving every game.
Aiden Harper
Souths 13/14DC Black
A no nonsense front rower who is a great leader. His teammates look up to him and love to get behind him and his strong carries.
Mason Wilkes
Souths 13/14DC Black
Developing into a real leader of the team he works hard for his team in defence and loves to carry the ball forward. A produced some great running lines so far this season.
Andy Morris
Souths 13/14DC Black
Andy is consistently working hard on his game and is improving every week. He is super tough and not afraid to take on the bigger kids in defence.
Tallas Woff
Brothers
Runs a great line with his explosive speed and hits a hole with gusto. A brick in defence, displaying great technique mixed with plenty of aggression. Tallas gives his all in both attack and defence and is one of our best players week in and week out.
Tanner Ross
Brothers
The young fullback is always in position for kicks and is a great runner of the ball, running excellent lines as well as developing into a top-notch ballplayer. A great little defender as well despite being only small in size.
Cruze Castles
Brothers
A big hard running forward. Has great size, and uses it well when needed, but despite his size he doesn’t rely on this he runs a great hole. Has explosive speed for a big guy and breaks tackles regularly. Cruze’s tackling is brutal at times always making sure the opposition know he’s on the field.
Billy Bishop
Brothers
Developing into a very good ballplayer and organiser on the field. The talented five-eighth has a great pass and is very quick on his feet in attack. A good tackler as well.
Julian Todd
Highfields
The ultimate utility player, equally comfortable at lock, second row, wing, or centre. His deceptive strength and speed, combined with a love for the physicality in defence, make him a constant threat on both sides of the ball. When Julian is playing well, the team lifts with him, feeding off his energy and commitment.
Lachlan Hurst
Highfields
A reliable workhorse every team dreams of. As a second rower, he’s always ready to roll up his sleeves and drive the team up the field, setting the standard for effort and determination. With a martial arts background, Lachlan uses his technique and smarts to bring down bigger players in defence. He’s consistent, dependable, and a leader by example.
Cayden Sawyer
Highfields
A front-rower on the rise, growing more confident with each game. He’s still learning just how powerful he can be, but his hard-earned starting role this season speaks volumes. His bustling runs through the middle, combined with his quick get-up in defence, make him a key figure in controlling the ruck and setting the tone.
Cory McGrady
Highfields
The steady hand steering the team from halfback. A natural communicator and playmaker, he orchestrates the attack with calm authority, making the most of the skills around him to unlock defences and win games. His developing cohesion with the team is making their attack increasingly slick and dangerous. Cory’s reliability and vision make him indispensable in tight contests.
Elijah Domin
Highfields 13/14 DC Gold
A tough, hardworking second-rower who leads by example. Known for putting in the extra effort at training, he’s a reliable presence on the field and a key part of the team’s engine room.
Kynan White
Highfields 13/14 DC Gold
Has stepped up as a senior leader, guiding the team with his outstanding talk from fullback. His voice, experience, and calm presence make him a key figure on and off the field.
Darius Cambell
Highfields 13/14 DC Gold
A workhorse in the middle, capable of playing big minutes without slowing down. A true tackling machine, he brings toughness and consistency every time he takes the field.
Cambell Barnes
Highfields 13/14 DC Gold
Might not be the biggest on the field, but his grit and determination sets him apart. He never backs down from a challenge and consistently punches above his weight for the team.
Lincoln Corney
Brothers 13/14DC
A big body who will make plenty of meters each week. Rarely misses tackles and can play in multiple positions.
Archer O’Neil
Brothers 13/14DC
Second Row/Front Row.
Growing in confidence this year, he mainly plays as a good running backrower but can play multiple positions in the forwards, halves and centres. A good goal kicker and general all-rounder.
Trent Wainwright
Brothers 13/14DC
A natural footy player in both attack and defence, a good ball runner who leads the team around.
Blake Neilan
Brothers 13/14DC
A very handy winger but is gaining more skills to play at centre and fullback. A natural try scorer with plenty of speed.
