Georgia Voll’s dream summer continued on Monday night when she took out the Women’s Domestic Player of the Year award at the 2025 Cricket Australia Awards.

The award caps off an unforgettable two months for the Toowoomba star who has made waves across the globe with her batting efforts.

Voll made her international debut in all three formats for Australia and featured in four Women’s Ashes clashes, including the day/night Test at the MCG where she received her Baggy Green for her Test debut.

Throughout the domestic season, Voll scored 310 runs in 10 matches for the Sydney Thunder in the WBBL and was a force to be reckoned with for the Queensland Fire in the Women’s National Cricket League.

In her 12 innings during the voting period, the 21-year-old scored 566 runs at an average of 56.6 and hit two centuries along the way.

Justin Anderson played a pivotal role in her development as a junior, coaching Voll during her time at Ipswich and expressed his pride in seeing her excel at the top level.

“The move to the Thunder has been a massive thing for her to undertake being a Queensland girl,” he said.

“For her to open for the Thunder and score the runs and succeed, it is great.”

Anderson’s impact on the Toowoomba star has not gone unrecognised as he was invited down to Melbourne to watch her make her Test debut last week.

“She contacted us last week to let us know she had the chance to make the Ashes team so we took the flight down to Melbourne on the Friday evening to be there on the Saturday,” he said.

“We got asked to go in the dressing rooms after the game and got to go on the field with the team and got to watch them sing the team song.

“She’s been given her Australia caps for the 50 overs, 20 overs and Test teams all within a few weeks, it is an exceptional achievement for her and something to be very proud of.”

Anderson shared how special it is to have Voll continue to show her gratitude towards him.

“She has sent me messages before saying she really appreciated what we’ve done in the past so it’s a lovely thing to hear from her,” he said.
