SWQ players star at National School Futsal Championships

South West Queensland were a force to be reckoned with at the National School Futsal Championships.
The Under-19 and U14 girls teams flew the flag for the region as they claimed the national titles and a host of other players earned all-star honours.
The U14 were unstoppable – finishing the competition with an unbeaten record and the title.,
Young gun Sophie Kavanagh led the way when it mattered most and was named player of the final in South West Queensland’s 5-1 final win over ACT.
Meanwhile, the U19 girls had mixed results in the group stage as they suffered two defeats and only won three of their seven games.
However, they remained undeterred and found their rhythm at the right time as they claimed an impressive 5-3 victory over Northern New South Wales in the semi-final.
They then put on a clinic in the final as they defeated Queensland North Coast 6-3 to claim the national championship.
Macey Eiser was the game-changer for South West Queensland as she showed her class and put in an impressive display to earn player of the final and all-star honours.
The depth of futsal talent in the region was on full show as there were 27 teams from the region competing across all age groups with three sides finishing runners-up and a further six which made the finals.
