Now under new custodianship, Richard and Karen McLean are excited to bring renewed enthusiasm to the property.

Visitors can experience luxury accommodation at its finest with ‘The Residence’, a newly available booking option at the Homestead. Formerly reserved for the previous owners, The Residence is now open to all guests seeking a lavish stay.

Braeside Homestead has also launched an exciting online art gallery, allowing you to bring home a piece of Queensland’s stunning countryside.

Property records show the stunning property was snagged for $5.5m in 2023.

“As the new custodians of Braeside Homestead, we are thrilled to infuse fresh energy and innovative ideas into this historic venue. We’re committed to honouring Braeside’s rich heritage while introducing modern enhancements to elevate the guest experience,” the new custodians said.

“Braeside has always been a place where history, nature, and community converge. While preserving the property’s historical charm and natural beauty, we are focused on creating a space where guests can connect, celebrate, and enjoy,” Richard and Karen Mclean said.

“The enhancements we’ve made so far, along with our future plans, will not only elevate the guest experience but also support and showcase the incredible work of our local community.”

Southern Queensland Country Tourism chief executive Peter Homan said he was excited as the new custodians and renovations were an “enhancement of the already exceptional luxury experience”.

“Braeside Homestead has long been synonymous with top-tier luxury experiences. With the addition of new accommodation, I am pleased to see even more offerings in the Southern Downs and Granite Belt Region” Mr Homan said.

“Steeped in history, Braeside offers a journey back in time, promising all of the modern comforts.

“The improvements are important for tourism in the region as it not only attracts more visitors but also showcases the unique heritage and beauty country Queensland – in turn boosting local businesses and the economy.”

From $650 to $2000 per night for different experiences, the homestead will likely be on many travellers’ bucket lists.
