Toowoomba’s RACQ LifeFlight respond to two truck crash on Gore Highway

A two-truck crash on a busy highway southwest of Toowoomba has left two men injured, with one person flown to hospital. It comes less than 48 hours after a truck rollover occurred on the same highway. Details here.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a serious head-on truck crash that left two people injured.

Emergency services were called to the scene of a serious head-on crash involving two trucks on the Gore Highway in Bulli Creek, southwest of Toowoomba, on Wednesday about 7pm.

It is believed one truck in the southbound lane collided with another truck heading northbound.

Two male patients were assessed on the scene by paramedics from the Queensland Ambulance Service.

Toowoomba’s RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter arrived on scene, landing on a section of the highway which had been closed by emergency service crews.

The 24-year-old driver and sole occupant of the southbound truck, a Davoren Park man, sustained severe chest, abdominal and arm injuries.

He was flown to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a serious condition, under the care of LifeFlight’s critical care doctor and a QAS flight paramedic.

The driver of the northbound truck, a 38-year-old Regency Downs man, sustained arm and chest injuries.

He was transported to Toowoomba Hospital in a stable condition.

A section of the highway was closed in both directions until midnight.

Police are investigating the matter and ask any witnesses or members of the public with dashcam footage to assist.

It comes just a day after it was reported a man in his 30s rolled a prime mover on the same highway at Athol.

A driver was lucky to walk away with only minor injuries from the crash which occurred on Tuesday about 12.20pm.
