Man, woman suffer ‘traumatic injuries’ in private property crash
Two people have been flown to hospital after they suffered “traumatic injuries” in a crash on a private property in the northern Toowoomba region on Saturday.
Paramedics were called at 2.30pm to the incident on a rural property in Cooyar, about an hour north of Toowoomba.
The RACQ LifeFlight rescue chopper and LifeFlight SGAS helicopter, both based in Toowoomba, were then called in just before 3pm to assist Queensland Ambulance Services.
Crews treated the man in his 70s and woman in her 60s for multiple injuries at the scene.
The man was flown to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane, while the woman was taken by air to the Gold Coast University Hospital.
Both are in critical conditions.
Driver injured after horse hits side of car
A man has been injured in a bizarre incident just outside Toowoomba on Saturday night, where a horse ran into the side of his car.
The collision on the New England Highway in Mount Kynoch was reported to emergency services about 11.15pm.
It is believed the horse, which had no one on its back, ran into the side of the man’s car while it was moving.
The man in his 20s was taken to Toowoomba Hospital in a stable condition, suffering minor injuries.
The condition of the horse is unknown by authorities.
