UPDATE, 5PM: Patrons who visited a popular Toowoomba cafe at the same time as a positive COVID-19 case will have to quarantine for 14 days.

Queensland Health late on Tuesday afternoon confirmed a person who later tested positive to COVID-19 visited the Jamaica Blue cafe inside The Ridge Shoppingworld between 10.30am-noon on Friday, March 26.

People who visited the cafe at the same time as the COVID-19 case are considered close contacts and are required to quarantine at home for 14 days since attending the venue at that time and complete the contact tracing self-assessment on the Queensland Health website, found here.

If people are unable to complete the online contact-tracing self-assessment please call 13 HEALTH (13 43 25 84)

Queensland Health says people are required to stay quarantined even if they get a negative test until 14 days have passed since you were last there.

It can take 14 days before you may show symptoms or test positive.

The Ridge Shoppingworld has a separate contact tracing alert active, between 10.30am and 12.15pm on Friday, March 26.

People who visited Shoppingworld between those times on March 26 are considered casual contacts.

That means people should get tested immediately and quarantine at home until they receive a negative result.

They are also required to complete the contact tracing self-assessment, watch for COVID-19 symptoms, and get retested if they feel unwell.

1.15PM: The Ridge Shoppingworld has revealed a person who later tested positive to COVID-19 visited its Jamaica Blue cafe last Friday.

In a post to Facebook, the store said it had received confirmation from Queensland Health.

“We have received confirmation from QLD Health that a customer has visited Jamaica Blue Coffee at The Ridge on Friday 26 March 2021 between 11:15am – 12:15pm, has tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19),” the post said.

“The centre has taken every precaution to ensure the health and wellbeing of its customers including a deep clean of the Centre overnight in accordance with QLD Health guidelines.”

Despite the post, Queensland Health has not released the store as a contact tracing site.

The store is currently closed but The Ridge Shoppingworld remains open.
