Queensland mask mandate: Where to buy face masks across Toowoomba as stocks run out
Masks are selling out fast across Toowoomba, with many pharmacies already out of stock. Here’s where you can get some now.

Pharmacies are selling out of face masks quickly in Toowoomba, as Queensland’s statewide mask mandate came into effect on Monday afternoon following a spike in COVID-19 cases.
The popular Toowoomba Day and Night Pharmacy in South Toowoomba was already sold out as of 5pm on Monday, with more stock coming in around lunchtime.
“We had another pharmacy we were recommending but they have sold out now,” pharmacy manager Colleen Barham said.
“They ran out quickly as well.
“It’s great people are getting on board with it — today we’re expecting our next one to come in at 12pm.”
The Hooper Centre Pharmacy has masks for sale, but they are going out the door quickly.
There are also both single-use and reusable masks for sale at Chemist Warehouse on Margaret St, which just received a new shipment, as well as Good Price Pharmacy Warehouse on Ruthven St in the CBD.
Toowoomba’s discount and dollar stores, include the Choice outlets and the Reject Shop chain, also have masks for sale.
Masks need to cover both the nose and mouth to be effective, with many pharmacies recommending the “pinch and pull” method of holding it at the bridge and pulling down to the chin.
Stores and supermarkets are already implementing “no mask, no service” policies, with signs going up at the Hooper Centre indicating the new rules.
