TUESDAY, 1.30PM: Darling Downs Health says it has again reached capacity at its two drive-through testing facilities.

“We aren’t able to test any more people today through our Baillie Henderson Hospital testing site or our Charlton BP testing site. We are working on plans for an additional testing site - please stay tuned to our page for updates,” the department revealed on social media.

EARLIER: Queensland has recorded eight new local COVID-19 cases overnight, as authorities determine the existence of two separate clusters linked to the Princess Alexandra Hospital.

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk confirmed the new cases on Tuesday morning, brining the state’s total active cases to 78.

Six of the new local cases are close contacts of previous cases, while the other two are still under investigation.

Two cases overnight were detected in hotel quarantine.

It comes as Toowoomba testing sites are once again stretched towards capacity.

In a statement Darling Downs Health said there was currently a 2-3 hour wait for both of our testing sites at Charlton and Baillie Henderson Hospital.

More than 14,000 tests were conducted across Queensland in the past 24 hours.
