It’s one of the quintessential Autumn traditions in Toowoomba, but Tuesday’s official launch of the Toowoomba Royal Show has been postponed as a result of the latest COVID regulations following the recent Brisbane outbreak.
Chief executive officer of the Royal Agricultural Society of Queensland and Clive Berghofer Events Centre Toowoomba Showgrounds, Damon Phillips, said the launch would be postponed to a date sometime late next week.
“At this point in time the official launch of the show will probably take place next Thursday bt we will release more information once the Brisbane lockdown and Easter is over,” he said.
“We’re still planning as if this year’s show is still going ahead and preparing as though it’s business as usual until we hear further news after the lockdown.
“The show grounds are still being set up and prepared, we’re still setting up pens and the circus has just recently arrived from Victoria so until we hear otherwise the 2021 Toowoomba Royal Show is still on the cards for next month.”
